Somatic Relationship, Sex & Intimacy Coaching

Amy Davidson

Hi, I’m Amy Davidson (she/her), a Somatic Relationship, Sex, and Intimacy Coach based in Portland, Oregon and San Francisco, California.

Like many, I grew up in a world where sexuality and intimacy were hidden or shamed—especially for those socialized as women. The messages I received offered little space for choice, voice, or exploration, leaving me feeling like I didn’t quite fit into the narrow scripts of relationships and desire.

Working as an experiential educator in nature-based settings early in life impressed upon me one simple lesson that informs everything I do, particularly in chaotic times. And that same feed of info came through later in life doing crisis-based violence intervention work.

The lesson is always the same. Slow down. And listen to what your body tells you comes next. When we get the support we need to actually do that we can get the rest of our system online and hook into some really good stuff. I’m here to help you find what yours feels like.

We are the experts of our own lived experiences. Healing and thriving don’t come from prescribed solutions—they come from connection, agency and being truly seen.

I believe pleasure, joy and intimacy are a birthright. In a world that often isolates us from ourselves and each other, reclaiming these experiences is a radical act. My work is about helping you cultivate deeper connection, safety and presence in your relationships—with yourself and others.

How I approach my practice

We all bring trauma to our work, whether we carry it from our birth, our youth or other life experiences. We also carry it with us genetically from previous generations. (We also carry the good stuff from our ancestors too!) To that end, I find wisdom in Liberation Psychology which dares to think beyond “what happened to you” and instead asks ‘ what happened to your people and what continues to happen to your people.’

I also work from the premise that joy and pleasure aren’t luxuries—they are necessary and vital for navigating both our personal lives and the world and times we live in. When we reclaim these experiences, we step out of shame and into freedom. You don’t have to carry the weight of societal conditioning or past wounds alone. Healing isn’t just about working through pain; it’s about making space for delight, play and deep connection.

My practice combines talk-based coaching with experiential practices to help you expand your skills and beliefs around intimacy. That means that as your practitioner, I’m right there with you in it, offering guidance and feedback. We're essentially creating a relationship lab where you’ll get to practice skills and tools in real-time, through embodied experiences.

I am kink, trans, poly and sex work affirming.
